If you set up a personal account and access it while on campus once, you can use it anywhere for the next 3 months! Users do not have to be inside the firewall.
Or, if your institution has enabled email domain authentication, students will automatically get a license once they have created a Social Explorer account with the institutional email address. This license is valid for three months, after which they'll need to re-authenticate it.
