Social Explorer allows you to compare variables by showing them side by side so that you can swipe between them. You can compare two different variables or the same variable across different years, even if the data are not on the same geography.
- Click Compare to change the map view in the map header at the top right corner of the screen.
- Select Side by Side or Swipe.
Tip: The Side-by-side maps are linked by default. You can choose not to link them. Keeping Link Maps on will lock the position of the side-by-side maps and allow both maps to zoom and pan in tandem. If you choose to toggle Link Maps off, the side-by-side maps will be delinked, and you will be able to make changes to one map without affecting the other. Click the double arrow icon |
Note: Both variables will be displayed in the tooltip on both maps. However, when the view is switched back to the single map view, only the variable in the left map will be displayed. |
